Head of Sales Development for fast-growing SaaS company

We are currently searching for our first Head of Sales Development eager to build a strong sales development team working across regional boundaries.

What would be your responsibilities?

As Head of Sales Development at Impero your main responsibilities are to ensure a steady flow of qualified leads to the sales managers.

You will be responsible for building the foundation for successful inbound and outbound prospecting activities and lead qualification through a hands-on approach. We are strong believers in showing not telling, and when the foundation is built you will be able to expand the team. If you’re looking to make an impact, Impero’s the place for you.

Initially, you will have one SDR in the team, and as we see a strong foundation and the activities bearing fruit you will get to expand the team.

We work in a matrix. The SDRs form a team and share ways of working, tools, etc, yet they work with their regional teams to ensure focus on the regional opportunities and ICPs for each of our offerings.

Your responsiblities will include:
  • Research prospective customers and develop strategic approaches to build a robust sales pipeline
  • Proactively manage and follow up on all inbound leads through both phone calls, emails and social media, leveraging marketing generated content
  • Contact prospective customers from personally generated research
  • Conduct sales discovery with prospective customers to find their pain points, and effectively present product information once you have identified their needs
  • Act as an expert on the platform in delivering messages to prospective customers
  • Collaborate across Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Product to ensure prospects receive timely, conducive information that increases product knowledge and interest.
In addition, you will:
  • Build the team, hire, train, and coach sales development reps
  • Ensure increasing high performance of the team, so we achieve weekly and monthly targets
  • Ensure people allocation to markets and assign client portfolios in alignment with strategy
  • Develop and ensure adherence to our Sales Playbook and improve messaging, sequences, and processes together with Marketing and Sales
  • Develop solid reporting with Sales Operations and share progress with Sales and Marketing

This position is full-time, based in Copenhagen or Aarhus and you will report to our Regional Sales Directors. You will have awesome marketing colleagues, sales managers, sales development reps and customer success managers as your closest collaborators.

Your essential skills and experience

We believe that the following traits and experiences are important for becoming successful in this role, and it is the basis upon which we assess candidates. However, we acknowledge that talent takes many forms, and we would still like to hear from you, even if you don’t think you match all the points below.

We expect you to:
  • Hold a couple of years’ experience from a commercial position having proven B2B sales development experience from an SDR, BDR or MDR role – preferably from a SaaS scale-up
  • Lead by example and take pride in getting your hands dirty
  • Have a good business understanding and strong analytical skills
  • Thrive in engaging with people and having strong presentation and communication skills
  • Enjoy coaching and training others
  • Be highly motivated and eager to learn and develop along with a high sense of urgency
  • Show a structured approach to problem-solving
  • Master verbal and written communication in English
Prospecting toward the CFO suite is helpful but not a prerequisite.

  • By the end of the first quarter, you will have finished your onboarding program, you will run prospecting activities and see a growing pipeline, and you will have initiated the search for additional SDRs.
  • By the end of six months, you will have finished your ramp-up time and developed the Sales Playbook in collaboration with Sales and Marketing as well as be comfortable running your team.

Location

Denmark (on-site) you will have the opportunity to work from our offices in Aarhus or Copenhagen.
